And this is not &quot;black magic&quot; or whatever: just open the &quot;Sharing&quot; panel of the System Preferences on your Mac, and it&#039;ll tell you the actual &quot;.local&quot; name of your machine. Running &quot;hostname&quot; in a terminal might help too, however some hardcoded DNS entry would take precedence over mDNS.</description>

Both the AppleTV AND the iPhone impement bonjour. For instance, you can browsed shared libraries on your AppleTV : this wouldn&#039;t be possible w/o bonjour.
