Home Zone for Mac OSX
![]()
Just tried the HomeZone application for MAC OSX and it’s really awesome, basically it lets you define a set of actions related to the presence or absence of a bluetooth or WiFi network around your laptop. For instance, If I’m going in a meeting I will probably take my phone with me, and thus the laptop will detect it, turn-on password for the screen saver and turn the screen-saver on. When I’m back it will turn it off ;). This is a major step to ease the identity 2.0 stuff
Next step : add an rfid ID in the mobile !
The Next Web Party
A few comments about the next web : the speakers were very good, most of them adopted keynote-style slides and a very punchy style which made the presentations really good, and most of the attendees actually were in the theatre watching the presentations, which was pretty unusual ! And indeed this event was weak from on a networking point of view, many people just “curious” and not involved directly in the business, few VCs and press, at least compared to the latest conference I attended (Innovate Europe).
But at least I had an award
and a few previously arranged meetings that made it worth it, along with Jeff’s presence with is always a rare pleasure ! And by the way, the 65€ diner was a rip-off, ordinary food, no desert … I went to the nearby McDonald’s at the end of the party ! On and by the way, this award thing was really a big joke

The next web
Awfully tired this morning, why are people always organizing conferences in remote places with limited access ? Anyway I guess everyone is there and the morning started very intensely with a breakfast with Esme from Muniwireless and then a bunch of awesome presentation from Saul Klein (Index) and Jeff (Softtech VC).
