Patching Apple TV
It’s now almost possible to patch your favorite Apple TV without opening it up ! The solutions was developed by the Awkward TV team and is codenamed Patchstick. Basically is a very tough process where from an intel-based MAC OSX you can create a bootable USB key and have your Apple TV boot on it and patch the Apple TV OS. Only one bad point : you need a boot.efi file only available on bitorrent (it’s on the Apple TV HD but you don’t want to open it up….). Anyway I did it and thus so can you! This will let you play divx, read RSS feeds, listen to webradios and really unleash your Apple TV potential ! An SDK is now also available to develop extensions to your favorite Set-top box !
