Nokia Remote Device Access

Nokia has granted free access to the RDA service which was previously limited to Premium Forum Nokia Members. RDA is a farm of nokia phones mounted into a connected server letting you control it remotely. You can reserve access time to a device and use it to test your software. Mobile Complete has the same kind of service called “DeviceAnywhere” which is not limited to Nokia devices and with a premium feature : the simulation of the operator’s network of your choice (Orange UK, Orange FR, BT…).

  • Mobile Complete’s approach is a bit different: they are highly operator oriented (operator variants instead of generic devices etc.), only have a very limited selection – if any, of Symbian Nokia devices. Not to mention it is a commercial solution. RDA on the other hand is offered for free to the developers and focuses on S60 devices, so imo these two can’t be compared directly.
