UPnP on devices
As you may know, I moved to a new Windows-based mobile and I am missing mainly two things :
- A J2ME engine to run usual java apps – although there is that awesome .NET framework, still most of the available apps are in Java – this might change as time goes but until then… I found this JVM called Mysaifu and although I can install it alright, I’m not that sure about its support of J2ME.
- The UPnP functionalities. You might wonder what good it is for – and I’d rather agree : nothing is really taking any clear benefit from UPnP but still sometimes it’s fun to send a video stream from your mobile to your UPnP-enabled set-top-box. So I found the solutions with this expansion pack from Microsoft

When I’m presenting i’m used to saying that, just like see your coffee machine? it could send you an email to tell you there’s no more water which would save you 15m walk to fill a bottle etc etc.. but some guys really took it literally. They saw a fish tank and said : let’s put some WiFI ! And there you get the Wi-Aquarium ! Which lets you watch your fish via webcam, feed them remotely and adjust heat, lights and filter online. The aquarium will even send you an e-mail to report aquarium status.
