The remote has a half-vga touchscreen and dual processor for precise stick movement response. When Olivier presented me WinCE he indeed stressed that the OS is doing true realtime, which means that when you have a hardware interrupt, you can be sure that within a millisecond the running program will be suspended to take the proper action.
There are 2 operating systems on the Futaba 14MZ : Windows CE is only used for the setup interface. The radio subsystem uses a proprietary OS and a separate processor for all flight related operations. I use a Futaba radio myself for flying RC helicopters and the 14MZ is my dream radio

Or else it’s a garanteed crash. I had to practice hovering for 2 weeks before doing it on the real thing.
Next spring I’ll ping you for the first flight of the new helicopter (I crashed the previous one in Madrid while trying to fly upside down…). Also I plan on fitting an onboard camera on it, however I still haven’t figured out how to relay telemetrics to a laptop on the ground without spending a fortune.
